FACTS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH

In the U.S. 1 in 5 adults experience mental illness each year. Mental health illness affects 21% of U.S. adults in 2020 which is approximately 52.9 million people. It is estimated that mental disorders are attributable to 14.3% of deaths worldwide, or 8 million deaths each year. It has been determined that 2 million times each year, people with serious mental illness are booked into jails. These individuals don't need jail they need mental health assistance. 


According to the Center of Disease Control 25% of Americans suffered from mental health disease and another 50% of Americans will suffer from mental health disease in their lifetime. 

The reason we must educate the community because we are currently in a state of emergency when it comes to mental health individuals. There are several forms of mental health that individuals suffer with which includes depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, dementia, PTSD and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder are all forms of mental health disease.
